Bible Verses For An Anxious Heart

We all worry sometimes. Sometimes about money, sometimes about family, sometimes about work or studies. It is very normal. But when these thoughts surround us, the anxiety in our hearts increases and it feels like we are alone, with no one by our side.

But friends, in fact, we are never alone. Our heavenly Father is always with us. He understands all our troubles, all our pain. And so he left us his word so that we can draw strength and comfort from it.

Dear brothers and sisters, if you are very worried because your exam results were not good. It seems that everything is over. But do you know what the Bible says? “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord. “They are plans for you, not to harm you, but to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

How do you feel when you hear these words? Doesn’t it seem like God has done something good for you? Maybe by failing this exam, he is teaching you to be more diligent.

Imagine you have lost your job. It seems like everything is dark. But the Bible says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” (Philippians 4:6)

Doesn’t that make you feel that God is on your side? He hears everything you say, understands all your thoughts. He wants you to tell him everything, trust him.

I know it’s not easy. I have also been worried many times. I remember one time when my son was very sick. The doctors were saying that he would have to have an operation. I was very scared. But then I read this verse: “When I am afraid, I trust in you.” (Psalm 56:3)

These words gave me great peace. I realized that God is on my side, that he is taking care of my son.

So friends, whenever you are worried, feeling that you are alone, remember – your heavenly Father is always with you. Read His Word, talk to Him. You will see, peace will come to your heart.

And yes, don’t just keep these words to yourself. If you see a friend or relative of yours who is worried, share these words with them. Because you know, “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2)
