Today we are going to talk about an important topic – Not Fighting Back. When someone hurts us, it is natural for us to get angry, to want to get back at them. But the Bible teaches us something else.

Let’s think about it – when someone treats us badly, what do we do? Maybe we yell, or we fight with them. But does that solve the problem? Rather, it makes it more complicated.

The Bible says that we should not get back at them. This may sound a little strange. But think about what Jesus himself did when he was being abused? He did not get back at them. Instead, he forgave them.

Now the question is, how do we apply this teaching in our lives? Suppose your coworker says bad things about you behind your back. Naturally, you will get angry, maybe you will think of fighting with him. But before you do that, stop for a moment. Ask yourself – is it going to do any good? Instead, try to talk to him calmly. Maybe you will find out that it happened because of a misunderstanding.

Remember, not taking revenge does not mean that you are weak. Rather, it shows that you are strong, because you can control your anger. It is not easy, but with practice you will gradually be able to.

When someone treats you badly, first pray. Ask God for strength. Then try to understand the situation from that person’s point of view. Maybe there is a problem in their life that is causing them to behave this way.

Remember, forgiving does not mean forgetting. Forgiving means freeing yourself from that anger and bitterness. This will bring you peace. God loves and forgives us. So we should love and forgive others too. It is not easy, but with God’s help we can do it.
