Bible Verses About Helping Others Without Recognition

Today I want to talk to you about an important topic. It is to help others, but not to seek recognition for that help.

You know, there are many people around us who need help. But we often want to help in a way that everyone knows and people will praise us. But friends, is this real help?

Jesus taught us that real help comes from love and humility. He himself helped many people, but he never wanted everyone to praise him. Rather, he wanted people to see the glory of God and praise him.

What happens when we help someone? First, the dignity of the person we are helping is preserved. Second, our own hearts are pure. We are doing it only for God, not for the praise of anyone else.

Let me share a personal experience of mine. Once I saw that my neighbor was very sick. I cooked some food for him and left it at his door. Later, when he got well, he told me how much that food had helped him. I realized then how much of an impact even a small act can have.

Friends, when we help like this, we are actually following Jesus. He said, “Do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.” This means that you help with such a humble heart that you do not think about yourself after you have helped.

This kind of service teaches us humility. We learn to put others first, not to think about our own gain. Jesus’ whole life was like this – he always served others, forgetting about his own interests.

You know, this kind of work is very special to God. He sees our hearts, he sees the love behind our actions. When we help in secret, we trust that God will reward us in his own way, in his own time.

The Biblical Foundation of Selfless Service

“Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heavenTherefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their rewardBut when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doethThat thine alms may be in secret: thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly”
