Today we will talk about a very important topic – the Feed of our minds. Just as we eat good food for the body, the mind also needs food. And you have to be careful about what happens to that food.
Dear friends , there are many things happening around us. Watching TV, listening to music, chatting with friends. All of this is affecting our minds. But it is important to understand what is good, what is bad.
Suppose, you’re just watching the negative news all day. What’s going to happen? You’re going to get upset too. But if you read some good things, listen – you’ll have a good mind too.
The Bible tells us, “Whatever is true, whatever is acceptable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is virtuous, whatever is reputable, if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, meditate on it.”
Now think, why is this being said? Because the way our minds are formed, so will we be. If we always think about good things, we’ll be good too. Just like God – He always thinks of good, beautiful things.
Let me give you an example. Let’s say, your friend told you something bad. What do you do now? Think about it all day, or forget about it? The Bible says, think about the good things. So, rather think your friend might have a problem, so say . Think about how you can help her.
Remember one more thing. Paul said, “Capture every thought into the obedience of Christ.“ What does that mean? It means, whenever a bad idea comes up, turn it around. Like, someone mistreated you. You may be angry, but instead think – what would Jesus do? He must have forgiven.
Now the question is, how do we get these good ideas to come to mind? Here are some tips for this:
- Read the Bible every day. This will fill your mind with good thoughts.
- Listen to good music that encourages you.
- Spend time with friends who make you better.
- Pray every day. This will calm your mind.
Remember, your mind is a garden. If you sow good seeds, beautiful flowers will bloom. But if we sow weeds, only weeds will grow. So, choose your food with caution.
Before concluding, let me say one more thing. Remember, it won’t happen in a day. Slowly get used to it. Sometimes if you’re wrong, don’t blame yourself. Rather, try again. God is always by your side, will help you.
